Spring Break 2019: Hit Up These 6 Ski Resorts

Even though much of North America is still getting buried with snow, it’s time to start planning your spring break destinations.  Enjoy your powder days while you can because soon you will be trading them in for some sun and corn skiing! While spring skiing does mark the end of winter, i’ve gotta say it’s not the worst transition.  Soak up the sun, park laps, and free concerts! We have put together a list of the 6 hottest resorts to ski at this Spring. So, grab your sunscreen and dust off your hawaiian shirts it’s almost time for party mountain!

Lake Tahoe, California

Notable Weekend: WinterWondergrass – March 29-31

Closing Day: TBD

Squaw Valley is currently experiencing record-breaking snow with no end in sight!  Tahoe has been getting absolutely buried this season which means Squaw will be open well into the Spring.  If you haven’t experienced a WinterWondergrass Festival, now is your chance! They are coming to town the last weekend in March featuring world-class bluegrass music and awesome brews!


Jackson, Wyoming

Notable Weekend: Rendezvous Festival – March 15-17

Closing Day: April 7th

Jackson Hole just had its deepest February EVER!  Head up and enjoy the snowpack this Spring. Don’t miss the Rendezvous Festival where you can see free concerts including Grace Potter, Nathaniel Rateliff and Greensky Bluegrass!  Stellar skiing, jammin’ music and the Tetons…what more could you ask for?


Whistler, British Columbia

Notable Weekend: World Ski and Snowboard Festival – April 10th-14th

Closing Day: May 27th

The biggest Spring party may very well be with our Northern neighbors at Whistler Blackcomb! They host the annual World Ski and Snowboard Festival in the middle of April. Head up for a week of snow sports competitions, music, arts and mountain culture. Ski all day on some of the best terrain in North America then party all night with free concerts in the plaza!


Park City, Utah

Notable Dates: Spring Gruv – March 23rd- April 7th

Closing Day: April 7th

Spring has almost sprung in Park City, Utah!  They provide a 16-day party for you to celebrate starting March 23rd.  Enjoy free concerts at both the Payday Deck and Canyons Village daily. Don’t miss the annual pond skimming contest that occurs on closing weekend.  Sign up, sport your most festive costume and show us your best skim…or splash!


Carrabassett Valley, Maine

Notable Weekend: Reggae Fest April 11-14th

Spending your Spring Break in New England? Cruise up to Maine and party at Sugarloaf! The ‘Loaf has some of the best skiing on the East Coast and provides the most fun-packed spring lineup. Nothing spreads the party mountain vibe like some quality reggae music. Send it to Sugarloaf for their annual Reggae Fest!


Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah

If you have ever skied Utah in the spring, you know the Bird is the word!  While they don’t have a huge festival or an organized pond skimming, every weekend is a blast!  Snowbird boasts the longest ski season in Utah, so take advantage. You can ski great spring conditions all the way to Memorial Day…and beyond.  Hit up the natural pond skim under the tram or be brave at the wave off Little Cloud!
