Classic, Consistent Quality: Armada Skis

The holidays have come and gone which means it’s time to finally focus on your own needs and wants for the upcoming season.  Why not start with the one stop shop of all things skiing? Armada’s popularity and reputation amongst skiers worldwide comes at no surprise.  This athlete-owned, athlete-driven ski company has been a front-runner in the freestyle progression and has set the tone for new age ski-style.  Known for their ripping skis, Armada has also stepped up it’s game in the outerwear world. Here are some of our favorite pieces from this year’s stellar line. Take your pick or refresh your whole kit!

Ladies – the VJJ is back and it’s better than ever!  After taking a short hiatus from the front lines, Armada has remodeled their signature women’s pow sticks with some serious improvements.  The VJJ features an AR Rocker with a poplar wood core that enhances response and gives the ski a super fun, poppy ride. With the added Smear Tech on the tips and tails these skis are built to slash and float through powder effortlessly.

Being that I typically ride twin tip skis, I was hesitant to try something more directional.  After one run all my doubts were shattered. I found the Tracer 108 to be as playful and nimble as any freestyle ski I have skied and extremely lightweight.  These skis carve, float and jump amazingly. Pair them with a Shift Binding and you have the ultimate one ski quiver for resort riding or touring. With an even lighter Poplar-Caruba wood core and a larger fiberglass package the Tracer further decreased weight and added durability. This ski ups the performance ante with dampening Adaptive Mesh, Titanal Reinforcement underfoot and AR 75 Sidewall construction.  If you’re in the market for a mid-fat directional ski, look no further – the Tracer 108 is the ski for you!

We know you girls rip harder than ever, that’s why you NEED the Resolution GORE-TEX 3L Jacket.  Equipped with the 3-layer GORE-TEX technology, this jacket is guaranteed to keep you dry while not compromising durability.  Don’t be caught sweating during the bootpack- Armada’s new high-performance technology is lighter and more breathable than ever! Open the vents and let those pits breath or pair with an insulator on harsher days to keep you slaying pow all day.

The Evers Jacket combines function and style like only Armada can provide.  The GORE-TEX® shell keeps you dry and looking fly while the C-Knit backer gives the jacket a softer feel and helps keep you warm.  The Evers longer cut allows you to have style without having to size up. Loaded with functional pockets and waterproof zippers this is the Cadillac of GORE-TEX® freeride jackets.

Look good and ski better in any condition with the Highline Bib. Designed to complement the Resolution Jacket, this GORE-TEX pair will provide you the highest level of durability and water-resistance even on the wettest of days.  I’d rep these anytime- from hiking the headwall to sporting them during spring’s party mountain!

Best feature: The bib and suspenders are easily removable and stashable for days you would rather rock them as a regular pant!

The Delway Pant is the perfect companion to the Evers Jacket.  It offers the same amazing tech and fit profile with a few extras of its own.  The Integrated Schoeller® Keprotec® Cuff and Instep Reinforcement keep you looking fresh all season.  Reinforced cuffs are not something new to ski pants but these really change the game. Extremely burly and thorough coverage without adding a ton of weight or losing mobility.
