I don’t know about you guys but avalanche doggos really do it for me. You all see them riding the lifts with the patrollers and playing outside the patrol shacks but these puppers are certified badasses. If you are unlucky enough to end up in an inbounds avalanche, these cuties will be the first responders in trying to find you. We wanted to pay it forward to our favorite employees on the mountain. So we put together a photo collection of the cutest avalanche dogs we could find! You’re welcome.
Meet avalanche dog Sable, a Boykin Spaniel. Medium sized and compact to carry, at 32 pounds, she is friendly, has an enthusiastic personality and is very lovable. Her large, feathery ears hang close to the cheeks, setting off an expression of soulful intelligence. Boykin Spaniels move with the effortless and balanced gait typical of durable gundogs. Bred to work in their native South Carolina, web-toed Boykins can swim like seals, and dig efficiently in the snow. She’s an avid worker, and we are proud to have her on our team.
